Hi! I'm Marcy!

I'm an aspiring game developer and photographer studying Japanese. It's my dream to be a successful game developer and to study at a language school in Japan. I work at a print-shop to support myself and my roommate.

I have struggled with mental health for a very long time, but have recently began to heal a lot and get better than I ever have been. I have hope for the first time! I believe in the future!

I love storytelling and my chosen medium is game development. I have been (slowly) working on game development projects in my free time, and hope to get to share my work with the world one day.

My roommate was learning Japanese, and asked me to learn too so she could have someone to converse with. At the time, I thought i'd never try to to go to school or study again. However, I adore stationery and have a huge collection of stationery stuff I had nothing to do with. I thought learning a language would give me something to do with all my stationery.

Learning Japanese was really fun for me, and I fell in love with the language. I realized that with Japanese proficiency, I could have my work localized one day and reach so many more people with my work. My improving mental health and motivation to actually go to college along with my ever-increasing love of learning Japanese has now spiraled into a dream to study at a language school in Japan, be as fluent as possible, and maybe even live there long term.

I've always wanted to explore the world, get to live in a real city, and meet new people from different worlds than mine. I love photography too, so I hope I get to go on my dream journey and share it with you. I hope I get to live a more compelling story than I could even hope to write myself.
